SMALL WALNUT TABLE WITH SCAGLIOLA INLAY

A beautiful petite table crafted in solid black walnut with a decorative plaster inlay "scagliola" inlay by the UK based artist Christopher Wall.

 

The table has delicate proportions and the walnut has been oiled with a slight sheen which highlights the stunning grain found in this type of wood.   Traditionally used to mimic marble, Christopher pushes the boundary of the scagliola technique by experimenting with colours and patterns and using it across his own very contemporary pieces.  Here, a small piece is used with walnut to great effect.
