Kate is a ceramic artist based in Essex. We started working with Kate in January 2026. Our first commission was the Scarred Vase, which sadly was the only survivor out of four pieces; the other three didn’t survive the firing process. However, this turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

 

Using the saggar-firing technique instead, the result was quite spectacular. Smoke and fire give the clay the most fascinating and dramatic effects.
