​Christopher is one of the very few British artists working with the Scagliola technique, a decorative art form that originated in Italy in the 17th century. At first sight, most people are not quite sure what Scagliola is: marble, stone or ceramics?

Scagliola was developed to imitate marble and semi-precious stones. It is a plaster made from gypsum, natural pigments, and natural glue, and requires exceptional skill to manipulate and achieve a seamless, lustrous finish.

Its versatility allows the artist to create a wide variety of shapes and colours, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors. You may well have come across Christopher's work in interior design magazines where it is often featured as part of beautifully curated homes.
